Knowing what to do with them can be difficult as well..  We feel the waves of them well after our loved one has passed away, the relationship ended, or whatever event has happened.  

 

Stuffing the feelings isn't an option, they will return and usually with a vengeance and always when we least expect it.  But what do you do with them?

Grief has a way of taking your attention.  People might tell you to move on, get over it, and other things like this.  These are not helpful.  What is helpful?  Allowing someone space to feel.  Yes, I said feel.  Feeling the feelings is the only way through.  In the 5 things to do when you feel overwhelmed with grief gives you some practical tools to utilize when your body is processing all of the feelings.
